How does Lavish work?

The founder Vlaďa Ilavská regularly visits antique exchanges, vintage furniture warehouses and workshops abroad, where she selects original pieces in different styles. In her studios in Bratislava and Prague you can find a selection of furniture from different eras: bauhaus, art deco, mid-century modern from the 1950s but also space age from the 1970s or playful postmodern. 

The furniture comes mainly from Italy, France, Denmark and other European countries. From Slovak and Czech design he selects mainly appetizers. 

Imported Lavish pieces are then inspected, cleaned and refurbished as needed to serve for decades to come. Experienced craftsmen are involved in the renovation process - Miro the restorer, Janko the upholsterer and Patrik the electrician.

The Lavish team is complemented by two skilled photographers, Natália in Bratislava and Anna Mária in Prague, whom you can also meet in the studio. 

Vintage hunting

Finding vintage treasures is neither quick, easy nor convenient - "But the feeling when I find them is unrepeatable!"

Why Lavish? 

"When I was once studying a book about the Art Deco style in English, I came across the word "lavish". I confess I didn't know the meaning of it, but I really liked the sound of it. And when I translated it - I didn't hesitate for a second."
